1 .Welcome to Green Vale Agricultural Park.
欢迎来到Green Vale农业公园。
2 .As you know, we have only been open a week so you are amongst our first visitors.
大家都知道我们这里开放才一周，所以你们可以算是我们的首批游客了。
3 .We have lots of fascinating indoor and outdoor exhibits on our huge complex, spreading hundreds of hectares.
这个占地数百公顷的公园里有无数迷人的户外和室内的展品。
4 .Our remit is to give educational opportunities to the wider public as well as to offer research sites for a wide variety of agriculturists and other scientists.
我们的使命是为广大民众提供教育机会，同时也为农业和其他科学提供研究场所。
5 .Let's start by seeing what there is to do.
我们先来看看在这里大家都能做些什么。
6 .As you can see here on our giant wall plan, we are now situated in the Reception block o.. here.
我们来看看墙上的地图，我们现在位于接待中心，在……在这儿。
7 .As you walk out of the main door into the park there is a path you can follow.
进了大门之后这儿有一条路。
8 .If you follow this route you will immediately come into the Rare Breeds section, where we keep a wide variety of animals which I shall be telling you a little more about later.
沿着这条路往里走你很快就会走到动物饲养区。我在那儿饲养了很多种动物，一会儿我会给大家细说。
9 .Next to this.., moving east.., is the large grazing area for the rare breeds.
紧挨着饲养区的东边是一大片牧场。
10 .Then further east.., in the largest section of our Park is the Forest Area.
再继续往东走是一片森林，它占据了公园里最大的一块区域。
11 .South of the grazing area and in fact just next to the Reception block is our Experimental Crop Area.
在牧场的南边，挨着接待中心的位置是我们的农作物实验区。
12 .In the middle of the Park... this circular area is our lake These two small rectangular shapes here.., are the Fish Farms where we rear fish for sale.
在公园的中央……这个圆形的区域是一个湖……这里两块长方形的区域……这是渔场，我在那里养鱼，然后出售。
13 .To the east of those is the marsh area which attracts a great many migrant birds.
渔场的东边是一片湿地，那里栖息着很多候鸟。
14 .In the south-eastern corner, beyond the marsh, is our Market Garden area, growing vegetables and flowers.
穿过湿地，在公园的东南角，是我们的商品菜园，里面种植了很多蔬菜和花卉。

1 .All these areas can be visited by the general public for almost all the year..,

2 .although... please take note of the large signs at the entrance to each area which tell..,

3 .which tell you when certain areas are being used for particular controlled experiments and are therefore temporarily out of bounds to the public.

4 .You can see for yourself what a huge area the park covers and a key question is always, how can we move around?
大家应该能看到这是一个很大的公园，那么问题就来可，我们要怎么游玩这么大的地方呢？
5 .Well you have a choice of means.., all environmentally friendly.., cars are banned in the park.
你有几种选择，每一种都很环保……，公园内是禁止车辆通行的。
6 .We have bicycles which you can hire behind the Reception block.., here.., the healthy ones of you can go on foot and finally there's our electric tram, powered from solar cells.
接待中心后面……在这儿……我们提供自行车出租；如果您体力充沛的话可以选择步行。最后我们还有太阳能驱动的电车。
7 .You find more information about this at the front entrance.

8 .A good place to start on your tour is the Rare Breeds section. We keep goats, sheep and hens and other kinds of poultry.
我建议大家先从动物养殖区开始参观。我们养了山羊、绵羊、母鸡和其他的家禽。
9 .We are also thinking of bringing in cows and horses but we do not, as yet, have facilities for these bigger animals.
未来我们还将考虑养殖牛和马，但目前我们暂时还没有饲养大型动物的设施。
10 .The animals are fed in public twice a day and a short lecture given on their feeding habits and nutritional needs.
这些动物每天公开喂养两次，在这个过程中会有一个小型的关于它们的进食习惯和营养需求的讲座。
11 .These are very popular with the public but of course we mustn't lose sight of the main purpose of having this section,

12 .not as such to preserve rare animals but to maintain the diversity of breeds to broaden the gene pool for agricultural development.

13 .Green Vale changes with the seasons with different events happening at different times of the year.

14 .May will be perhaps our most spectacular month with the arrival of the Canada geese and when our fruit trees will be in full blossom, but there are interesting events on all year round..,
五月是我们这儿最热闹的时候。那会儿加拿大野雁正好回来了，公园里的果树也开花了。不过我们全年都有很多有趣的活动……
15 .for example John Havers, our expert fly fisherman is currently giving displays on the lake.
比如最近我们的钓鱼专家约翰哈维斯就在湖区给大家展示钓鱼技巧。
16 .Each of the sections has its own seasonal calendar.., please consult the summary board at the main entrance.

17 .And the final section, as we return to the Reception blocks, is the orchard.
我们在返回接待中心的时候回经过最后一块区域，果园。
18 .Do take time to browse round our shop.., there is a wide selection of books on wildlife, some of them written by local authors,
建议您抽点时间逛一逛我们的商店……，那里能买到很多关于野生动物的书籍，其中有一些是当地作者写的。
19 .and the history of farming, including organic farming, something which the park will be diversifying into in the coming months.
还有很多书是关于农业的，包括有机农业。我们在今后的几个月也会引进这些不同的农业模式。
